Seni Lab & 3.33TM reimagines the concept of light - By applying it as both a tool and visual outcome to reshape, redefine and represent a space. Cahaya is a purposeful immersion that enables a deeper understanding of the 3 dimensional realm we live in - that is heavily shaped by the form of electromagnetic radiation. Through its interaction with matter, this context creation allows us to experience, explore and engage in the meaning of ‘light’
Cahaya is also being used as a platform to highlight traditional music culture in an ultra stylised contemporary setting. Our aim is to reinterpret a traditional art form and present it in our own modern take on it. Our aim for Cahaya is to push a non-traditional medium while infusing traditional elements to the show. Our aim is to preserve our culture by interpreting it and showcasing it on our own unique ways.

In seeking to understand the enigmatic kuda kepang, one must open oneself to the worldview and language
of pratitioners themselves. Like the dancers who invite isim into their bodies, we
open
ourselves to
be
transformed.
What worlds (alam) do we see when we watch a kuda kepang - the seen (nyata) or unseen (tak nyata)?
The transient interlacing of both?
The primal power of disembodied isim is made real through the embodied expression of the performers.
